About
Why choose Tutor Dev ?
After graduating in 2014 he joined the graduate scheme at Ernst & Young as a tax adviser and then worked in the UK government’s Cabinet Office as a policy adviser.
Since 2016, and alongside his job as a civil servant, Dev taught mathematics to students studying for their 11+ entrance, Key Stage 3 and GCSE exams.
In 2020 Dev set up Tutor Dev to focus solely on delivering high-quality mathematics lessons for students and now features in top tutoring websites such as First Tutors.
Outside of his lessons, Dev is a passionate cricketer and has been playing for local clubs for the last few years.

TUTORING STYLE
Dev offers assistance outside of lessons to address mathematics queries and acts as a mentor to each student. He provides solutions and full explanations to questions so your child can recap the methods taught in the lesson. He is patient and provides honest advice and feedback to both students and parents. He tells you precisely which books and education materials are worth purchasing to save you time and stress.
For those preparing for the 11+ entrance exams, he has produced his own bank of questions and mock exams which mirror the style of questions asked in the exams. His lessons for entrance exams are not delivered to solely prepare students to pass exams, as from his experience, students will only end up in the bottom quarter of the academic year group when they join their secondary school or gain no admission at all.
Dev aims primarily to ensure his students are better mathematicians. It is only once he is content that students have an understanding of how the theory applies to a problem will he introduce targeted question practice to ensure students are exam ready. The tutoring market is swamped with individuals and agencies claiming to get students through exams. But there are only a few that can teach mathematics, boost confidence and make students hungry for more.
